WILSport Racedays Honda Team has announced that 2017 will see them competing in two championships: European Supersport Series and World Supersport 300. The squad will be represented by Mika Pérez in SSP300 and Hannes Soomer in ESS.
Pérez in Donington
Pérez, born in 1999, is the last European Junior Cup Champion and he managed to win the title with an impressive pace that allowed the Spanish rider to become part of the EJC history: just one win, but even six podium finishes in 8 races. He will ride a Honda CBR500R and will be one of the just three riders to do it, together with the Scuderia Maranga Racing duo (Triglia and Noderer).
Soomer in the pits in Jerez
About Soomer, this year the Estonian rider won two races before shifting from EJC to World Supersport with Kallio Racing for the last three European rounds of the season. In WSS, Hannes managed to score points in Magny Cours, where he finished 12th on the Yamaha YZF-R6 lined up by the Finnish squad.
WILSport Racedays is a team born at the beginning of this year to bring young riders from European Junior Cup to European Supersport and 2016 saw it competing in ESS with Javi Orellana (2015 EJC Champion, replaced by Dorren Loureiro from Lausitzring) and Braeden Ortt. Next season will bring a double commitment to the team boasting the ex-MotoGP rider Jeremy McWilliams as coach and they will do their best to get good results in two high-level championships.
